The Global College Walks with Burundi

This project was created to support the Batwa community in Burundi—an often-overlooked and marginalized group living in extreme poverty in forest settlements.

Many Batwa children grow up walking barefoot, constantly exposed to injuries, parasites, and infectious diseases. These conditions can lead to serious health issues, sometimes even resulting in the amputation of their feet.

We are working with the Kyriku foundation to raise funds to buy and distribute shoes to these children. Something as simple as a pair of shoes can protect them, improve their quality of life, and offer them a chance at a healthier, safer future.
